Venus, goddess of love and general indicator for relationships will be spending the last part of summer in Leo. In the sign of the lion, Venus is creative, dramatic, and fun-loving - this is one of the party placements for the goddess. Our relationships, and socializing in general, will be more outgoing and upbeat as compared to her time in the more security-oriented sign of Cancer, where she spent the middle part of summer, or Virgo, where she'll spend the first part of autumn.
Venus in Leo resonates a bit with her time in Gemini, although that period (most of July) saw her flirty, chatty side, while in Leo she becomes more heart-centered. Venus will be outgoing and fun, but there has to be heart when Leo is involved.
Yet Venus gets to Leo a bit late - the Sun has already left, Mars is on his way out, and Mercury will be just dipping in to the end of the sign for short stay. As we bend out attention towards the work that needs to be done before the year is out, we may find we have less time and inclination for romance and socializing. In fact, one of the few major aspects Venus will make while in Leo is a trine to serious Saturn in Sagittarius.
It's towards the end of her stay, around the 15th to the 18th of September, when we may see the most buoyant (or flamboyant) side of Venus in Leo, as she aspects Jupiter and Uranus, then goes over the point of the August 21st solar eclipse. Expect the second half of her month in Leo to have more action than the first.
Of course, there are potential downsides to everything, and Venus in Leo can signal too much drama in relationships. Sometimes, this is just the result of wanting something grand and exciting to happen - anything to stir us up.
At other times, though, Venus in the regal sign of Leo can bring about some arrogance and imperiousness - my way or the highway. If our heart's desire isn't being filled, we may need to stand our ground. But be sure before you burn your bridges out of pride. That's especially true around September 16 to 19.
