If you are feeling a little sad, know that you are not alone. Chiron at these final degrees of Pisces is stirring up a lot of old grief that needs clearing out. It is likely to feel a lot easier in May when Chiron finally moves into Aries. However, today, this energy is being exacerbated by the square from Mars, particularly with the Sun only 5’ away! Not to mention Jupiter expanding the energy of the Sun in Pisces.
In intimate relationships and friendships, there can be a temptation to reach out to comfort loved ones as a distraction from our own feelings of aloneness and loneliness. Not that this is a bad thing of course, but it’s important to keep in mind that first and foremost we need to take care of ourselves right now.
The other thing we may do in our pain is to lash out consciously or unconsciously at those we love, in a futile desperate attempt to feel less pain. When Chiron is triggered, one of our defenses can be scapegoating and often we scapegoat our nearest and dearest as we feel safer with them. However, it’s helpful to remember that as well as the fact that this behavior is destructive to relationships, our loved ones are also probably feeling a sense of grief right now, so they too are vulnerable and unlikely to be able to offer much comfort or containment.
What is likely to work best is to acknowledge each other’s pain side by side as loving equals and maybe create a ‘basket’ of resources together than you can each avail of when you need. For example creating a list of massage therapists, healers, counselors, favorite walks, nice foods, gentle books and recordings, art galleries…Plus some essential oils, crystals and some Rescue Remedy - and maybe a bar of chocolate or two! Also an envelope with some money that you can each use when you need to avail of the above, that you put back when the crisis has eased.
With Neptune quincunx the North Node in Leo we are reminded once more that it’s all about opening our heart. Grief clogs energy, so the more we can release it, the freer we are to love. MG
