Each year, Venus spends a few weeks in Mars’ home sign of Aries. The Goddess of Love is traditionally thought to be a bit out of place in the sign of The Cosmic Warrior, but then again we don’t have to be traditional. Venus in Aries is outgoing, direct, motivated, and fun – even if the fun is a bit messy for the ruler of elegant Libra. It’s also a strongly sexual placement for the Goddess.
When Venus is in Aries, we’re motivated to start new romantic and sexual adventures, as Aries is the sign of beginnings. It’s also a strongly independent sign, so we may be more inclined to take care of our own needs rather than deferring to partners (or potential partners).
That’s especially so this year, as Venus meets Uranus at the last degrees of Aries. Since 2011, Venus and Uranus have had their annual meet-up in the sign of the ram, and this is the last time for another 77 years. Starting next year, they’ll begin seven years of meeting on Venus’ home turf in Taurus.
With Venus and Uranus at the end of Aries, we may expect that the winds of change will be blowing for relationships. There’s likely to be a thread of impatience (already an Aries trait) running through our partnerships, and a willingness to make changes so that they suit our needs. Some folks will be inclined towards change for its own sake, and others may be surprised by events.
Most constructively, it’s a good time to break out of old patterns and expectations in our relationships. Consider the changes you can make and still feel loved and cared for. What could be different, and maybe even better in your relationships? One hint offered by Aries and Uranus is that giving your partner and yourself some space may feel right. This doesn’t feel like a time for crowding each other.
For those not in a relationship, Venus and Uranus in Aries might be suggesting that you open up to new possibilities. An emphasis on fun and romance might take precedence over more security-oriented needs, too. If you’ve always thought that you have a type that is attractive to you, you may want to consider breaking away from those limitations.
We may also feel inclined to change our personal style during the next few weeks. Venus and Uranus in Aries are ready to experiment with a new look – but keep in mind, it is an experiment and you may decide it’s not for you. A new hairstyle or a wardrobe change is one thing, a tattoo is another!
Key dates for Venus in Aries, when these issues are likely to spark: March 6 – 9, 13, 19, 23, 28, 29. Venus enters Taurus on March 30th.
