We are in the darkest phase of the Moon as it prepares to be born again with the Sun at 8.58pm this evening EST/1.58am tomorrow GMT.
There are three major planetary changes happening within a short space of time which are likely to impact each of us individually and in our relationships.
1. Mercury is finally stationary direct today. Although the shadow period can still be a little tricky communication wise, some of the confusion and misunderstandings may start easing a bit now. It’s worth waiting another week though for any important communication with your loved ones, unless it’s very urgent.
2. Chiron is at the critical 29’ of Pisces until the 17th, when it moves into Aries for the first time since 1977. Old grief may surface today, which is easy to attribute to past and current relationships. In reality it’s more likely to be about an existential sense of disconnection with something greater than ourselves. As Chiron prepares to move into Aries, it’s helpful to look back at what was going on in your life between 1968 and 1977. Who were the people around you and what did those relationships feel like? If you weren’t born yet, you might want to consider what was going on for your parents at that time? Who were they in relationships with? What was going on in both sides of your extended family before your birth? You may find a connection with some of these threads next week.
3. This New Moon is conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. These energies describe a very powerful and impatient force of deep change. Notice where the New Moon and Pluto fall in your natal and midpoint composite relationship charts. If either the New Moon or Pluto land in your natal 7th or 8th house, it describes changes within you in how you would like to experience relationships, particularly if they are close to your descendant.
The place they land in your composite chart gives you some useful information about where your relationship is ready for radical new beginnings. As we know well, Uranus tends to bring unexpected changes, so we may well be surprised by the changes that are surfacing within ourselves and in our relationships. We also know that the Uranian energy is about freeing us up of any restrictions that are impeding our evolutionary progress.
Although charts that are predominantly Fire and Air may find these powerful fiery Uranian energies exciting, emotionally we may not find them so easy. By nature our Moon is a more regressive, security based, familiar oriented energy. So it’s helpful to ensure that we nurture ourselves today in whatever manner our Moon finds most soothing. Fire Moons may enjoy being active, Earth Moons may find it comforting to ground in nature, Air Moons may enjoy communicating with friends and Water Moons may get comfort from being by or in water. The more aware we are of our own needs and ways to meet them, the less pressure we are likely to put on our relationships. These energies can feel a little harsh so gently does it on ourselves and with our loved ones. MG
