Quite a bit is happening on the week that begins July 9th - Jupiter stations to go direct on the 10th, there's a solar eclipse opposite Pluto on the 12th, and there are more than a few hot aspects that will get our attention. With all that going on, we may miss Venus' demure passage into reserved Virgo on the 9th.
In Virgo, Venus emphasizes service - what can I do for you? Affection is shown by being of help to a partner. While Venus in Leo might want to be taken to a show or want to give a gift to one's beloved, Venus in Virgo might cook a nice meal (healthy, too!), or offer to do the shopping. Clearly, it isn't the most romantic placement for the goddess of love, yet that doesn't mean that affection isn't real and deep.
Virgo is associated with purity (the virgin, after all), and Venus might like to work her way through the sign without much fuss. Yet she'll be very busy - and that's okay with focused and practical Virgo. Fortunately, most of the aspects she'll make are flowing.
Just two days into her voyage, on July 11th, she makes an easy trine to Uranus in Taurus. This suggests gently easing out of routines and trying something (or someone) new in our partnerships.
By July 14th, she'll knit together a grand trine by aspecting Saturn. While typically a time to build in relationships and perhaps take things to the next level, with the intensity of the solar eclipse and the specific nature of the aspects, this may be more of a time to release partnerships that aren't working.
Take a look at the news around July 16th, when Venus meets with Ceres. We're likely to see increased concerns for our food supply and the environment in general.
From July 22nd to 24th, Venus connects with Jupiter and Neptune. This is a potentially romantic period of time, especially if we cleared the air a week earlier. Note that romantic and realistic are different things, and it may be more a time to enjoy than to take seriously. The signs and aspects involved also suggest the slight possibility that we can pick on a detail and work it into a major issue - don't let the cap off the toothpaste become the source of a significant battle.
Unresolved issues may reemerge around the 27th, when Venus trines Pluto at the lunar eclipse. Passions can flair as we imbibe this cosmic cocktail - for better or for worse.
On August 6th, after diligently tallying up her accomplishments in Virgo, Venus moves to her second home of Libra.
