Today in the sky, the asteroids are very active. Venus, the planet we associate with love, beauty, and relationship, meets with Vesta and joins that asteroid in opposing Pallas Athene. It’s sure to be a day when women are prominent in the news, although there is a genderless quality to the truth-telling that is implied by these meetings.
Vesta is the keeper of the flame. She symbolizes pure intention, the Virgoan ability to maintain a focus on duty. As goddess of the hearth, she represents the home, and specifically keeping the home fires burning. More on her soon.
Pallas Athene is the goddess of wisdom, but this goddess carries a spear, not a book. Reminiscent of the sword-carrying Buddhist bodhisattva of wisdom Manjushri, she is ready to enforce wisdom and wipe out ignorance. In astrology, she often symbolizes the ability to express uncomfortable truths.
If Vesta sounds more conservative and Pallas Athene more progressive, consider that Vesta is now in Aries and Pallas Athene in Libra. There are perhaps some role reversals, or even a tempering of the two energies to bring about something uniquely powerful. We’re likely to see this at the collective level, but it will also have a role in our personal lives.
Today is a day when we are inclined to lay the truth out there and see what happens. It’s better to know than to guess, even if things don’t seem to go our way. In some relationships, there may be a strain between our sense of duty to the partnership and the need to follow our personal path. Communication is key at midweek - let the asteroid goddesses lend a hand.
