The Goddess of Love takes a turn for the goth when she enters Scorpio on September 9th. In the dark waters of the scorpion, Venus demands stark honesty, deep bonding, and unwavering commitment. If any of these are frustrated, she can infuse our relationships with power struggles, possessiveness, and jealousy. With Venus in Scorpio, we feel that it’s all-or-none, and we don’t have much time to choose.Read More

On August 6th, Venus enters her second home, Libra. Her stay in and around the sign will be extended, as she will backpedal into Libra from Scorpio during her upcoming retrograde. In fact, she won't leave Libra for good until early December, and her initial stay lasts more than a month, until September 9th. Towards the end of this period, on September 3rd, Venus enters the shadow of her retrograde in late Libra.Read More
+ 6 retrograde planets, apex Uranus square the Eclipse, Nodes and Mars Rx., the Sun quincunx Saturn and finally – Venus trine Pluto!
Without a doubt, one of the busiest days in the sky so far!
Lunar Eclipses feel like giant Full Moons. However, for a period of time, feelings that are emerging from our unconscious, are eclipsed. So it’s harder to know what the feelings are really about. It’s helpful to take a look at your natal chart, as well as your midpoint composite chart with loved ones, to see where the eclipse and the Venus/Pluto trine land. This offers helpful information to do with what’s likely to come to the surface for you and your relationships during this time.
When the energies are turbulent it’s not so easy to maintain balance in any of our relationships, regardless of how well they usually function. One of the key challenges with this Eclipse is the potential impatience and volatility in the heavens.
Lunar eclipses in particular, are about releasing old feelings that surface from our unconscious. However with the Venus/Pluto trine, letting go may not feel easy. With Uranus in Taurus, ruled by Venus, in a key apex position, change is afoot in some area of our relationship life; particularly in relationships which we have been over-reliant on, for our safety and security needs.
Ultimately this eclipse brings us back to our self-value as the key to our inner security and that takes us right back to love – both self-love and love for others. There is no other authentic way through it! MG

Few of us look forward to Mercury retrograde, because of the higher probability of communication glitches, particularly with our nearest and dearest! This one ought to carry an additional warning sign, because it's in a fire sign and Mars is still retrograde. Our chances of getting lost and the GPS breaking down have just doubled, both on the road and in our relationships!Read More
The Eclipse intensity is definitely in the air, with the Sun in an exact square to Uranus and trine Chiron later in the day. This tightens the ongoing Tsquare, which is a key feature on Friday. Without a doubt, change is at the forefront for all of us in core Taurean areas including: security, self-value, safety, finances, home, our relationship with our body, our relationship with the Earth and our relationships with each other.Read More
Quite a bit is happening on the week that begins July 9th - Jupiter stations to go direct on the 10th, there's a solar eclipse opposite Pluto on the 12th, and there are more than a few hot aspects that will get our attention. With all that going on, we may miss Venus' demure passage into reserved Virgo on the 9th.
In Virgo, Venus emphasizes service - what can I do for you? Affection is shown by being of help to a partner. While Venus in Leo might want to be taken to a show or want to give a gift to one's beloved, Venus in Virgo might cook a nice meal (healthy, too!), or offer to do the shopping. Clearly, it isn't the most romantic placement for the goddess of love, yet that doesn't mean that affection isn't real and deep.
Virgo is associated with purity (the virgin, after all), and Venus might like to work her way through the sign without much fuss. Yet she'll be very busy - and that's okay with focused and practical Virgo. Fortunately, most of the aspects she'll make are flowing.
Just two days into her voyage, on July 11th, she makes an easy trine to Uranus in Taurus. This suggests gently easing out of routines and trying something (or someone) new in our partnerships.
By July 14th, she'll knit together a grand trine by aspecting Saturn. While typically a time to build in relationships and perhaps take things to the next level, with the intensity of the solar eclipse and the specific nature of the aspects, this may be more of a time to release partnerships that aren't working.
Take a look at the news around July 16th, when Venus meets with Ceres. We're likely to see increased concerns for our food supply and the environment in general.
From July 22nd to 24th, Venus connects with Jupiter and Neptune. This is a potentially romantic period of time, especially if we cleared the air a week earlier. Note that romantic and realistic are different things, and it may be more a time to enjoy than to take seriously. The signs and aspects involved also suggest the slight possibility that we can pick on a detail and work it into a major issue - don't let the cap off the toothpaste become the source of a significant battle.
Unresolved issues may reemerge around the 27th, when Venus trines Pluto at the lunar eclipse. Passions can flair as we imbibe this cosmic cocktail - for better or for worse.
On August 6th, after diligently tallying up her accomplishments in Virgo, Venus moves to her second home of Libra.
As Chiron moves symbolically moves back in the sky we are invited to reappraise old hurts connected with our sense of self (Aries) and with our connection with others (Pisces). Chiron Retrograde transits re-awaken pockets of stuck energy that feel uncomfortable and at times painful. Hence we often try to avoid looking at them. Yet, if we ignore them, they tend to fester and grow bigger. Whereas if we allow them to surface, we can face the underlying issues. This allows their powerful hold on us to lessen and we can release their energy, thereby make space for new life.
As LGBTQ+ Pride month comes to a close, with joyful celebrations this weekend in many parts of Europe, it’s a good time to think about what Pride celebrations are about. When is Love not respected or recognized as valid ‘enough’? Why are people in some parts of the world imprisoned and killed for Love? What needs to change so that ‘Love is Love’ for everyone? Happy Pride Celebrations Everyone!Read More
During its retrograde phase we are invited to review, revise and reconsider actions we took since May 12th. As most of the retrograde is in Aquarius issues to do with ideals and ideas that we share or not with our loved ones, are likely to come to the surface. Our friendships will also probably be re-considered – what do we have in common? Do we feel stimulated by each other? What might we need to do to refresh our connection?Read More
Venus entered the sign of the lion on June 13th, beginning a short stay (until July 9th) in the Sun's home sign. Leo brings out the playful, romantic, and dramatic side of the Goddess of Love, although there is also a risk that some folks will get a bit more egocentric (or simply selfish) in matters of relationship and love.
Think of summer rooftop parties, a day at the beach, and a night of theater under the stars, and you have an image of Venus in Leo. Of course, image and reality don't always match, and it helps to be mindful that our expectations sometimes fall short of the ideal when manifesting. At best, Venus in Leo reminds us to have heart in matters of romance.
Venus' first task in Leo is a square to Uranus in Taurus, on the 14th. This aspect is likely to ignite relationship tensions, particularly those that have been building since early June (or back to March, if you can remember that far). Uranus in Taurus is seeking sensual freedom, while Venus in Leo has a more romantic, "how is this going to make me look?" approach. It's a good idea to break out of routines and try something new with Venus squaring Uranus.
Venus goes on to oppose Mars on June 21st, just before the God of War stations to retrograde for ten weeks. Venus/Mars aspects tend to ignite passion, but we'll have to see whether anything catches fire with Mars moving so slowly. As he's in Aquarius, Mars may stick to principle and make arguments, while Venus next to the Moon's north node will be asking him to have a heart.
Another tense aspect is Venus' square to Jupiter on the 25th of June. Venus and Jupiter get along well in any aspect, although with Jupiter in messy Scorpio, Venus may not be thrilled with his willingness to be down and dirty. This aspect can certainly fire up sexual passion, and it has an ability to get us to take a chance on romance. How we'll feel about it on the 26th is an open question.
Make the most of Venus in Leo. Try not to get too bogged down in images of what should be, and enjoy what is. Leo can take things too seriously, but can also be playful and lighthearted. Engage in your passion in relationships, but also channel the energy into creative projects and fun with friends.
At its very best it can describe immense feelings of passion for a significant other and open our hearts wide open. At its most limited it can erupt as obsession from deep within the recesses of our psyche. Either way, it may feel like an unstoppable tsunami of feelings that can no longer lie dormant.Read More
Venus entered the sign of Cancer on Saturday (May 19th), and she'll remain in the sign until June 13th.
In the sign of the crab, Venus typically shows her more traditional side - the Goddess of Love's time in Cancer roughly corresponds to June weddings. Beyond nuptials, it's also a time for socializing with the clan: family picnics, local festivals, barbecues with friends (you can grill vegetables!).
Yet this year, no soon did Venus enter Cancer than she made a harmonious aspect to Uranus, who's newly in Taurus. It's as if tradition is respected, but changed in some novel way - like a new twist on a treasured family recipe. Since this sets the tone for Venus in Cancer, it makes sense that socializing and romance over the next few weeks may not be as conservative as we might expect.
Venus will be quite busy as she moves through Cancer. An opposition to Saturn on May 26th could signal a time to 'get serious or go home' in relationships. Commitments are made, or not, at this hinge point when we question whether there is a solid foundation to build upon.
From May 31st to June 2nd, Venus knits together a flowing grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune. This period is likely to have us feeling emotional, as we release more challenging feelings and allow ourselves to move towards situations that are more rewarding.
On June 5th, Venus is challenged by an opposition to Pluto. Our personal inclinations and feelings may be put to the test as others - partners, work situations, or societal mores - try to control and restrict (of course, it could be you that tries to control and restrict someone else). The message at this time might be 'we're not doing things the same old way', a reprise of the Venus/Uranus aspect that began this chapter in our story.
Tomorrow at noon Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting married in Windsor. Regardless of what anyone thinks about Royalty in this day and age, for many, the wedding of a Prince and an American actress, represents both a challenge to the well-known conservative nature of the British royal family and the pleasure of witnessing a real life fairy tale. Somehow the possibility that ‘love wins,’ in spite of practical challenges, becomes more real with this wedding.Read More
In terms of relationships, the focus of our drive and desire nature is very much on equality and relationships which are not based on this, are likely to require radical change during this time. We are also likely to find ourselves paying more attention to our friendships and group connections – who are your ‘friends’? What do they mean to you? Why are you connected? Who is your ‘tribe’?Read More
In our relationships today, the challenge is to maintain some perspective. The Aquarius Moon is going to help us get a bit of distance on things, but an early morning square of Mercury and Pluto sets a tense tone for the day, and Uranus at the end of Aries is demanding rapid action.
The major aspect for relationships today, though, is a square between Venus and Neptune. The goddess of love is in Gemini, where she likes to keep things light and playful, and enjoys considering all the possibilities for love and socializing. Neptune in Pisces can overwhelm with emotions, making things appear much better or worse than they otherwise might. The result is a Cosmic Carnival, and you may find yourself in the Tunnel of Love or the Haunted House.
Enjoy the ride - if it is enjoyable - but don't take things too seriously. Neither the soaring heights of romance nor the deep abyss of loneliness are what they seem today. Follow Venus' lead and keep it on the lighter side.
Don't jump to conclusions, and try not to act precipitously. We're seeing relationships through a microscope (or a telescope): something important is noticed, but not in its correct proportion to the big picture. We'll figure it out - but probably not today.
On the one hand relationships are likely to be at the forefront of our heart and mind today. On the other hand, we may need some quiet time alone to process the unconscious feelings that are likely to surface throughout the day and night.Read More

At their most limited they can be expressed through anger, aggression, violence, control, fear, obsession, destruction…with ourselves and the people around us.Read More
