Diplomacy: Mars in Libra 2021

Mars entered Libra last night, staying until October 30th. In the sign of the scales, Mars isn't terribly comfortable. The impulsive nature of the red planet isn't consistent with the niceties that Libra demands.

In terms of relationships, we might find a hesitancy to move forward. Sexual energy might be limited by a reserved sense of what's 'proper', and communication may be a little indirect. There could be more handshakes than hand-holding.

On the other hand, an air of diplomacy and a tendency to mind manners could be quite helpful. Mars in Libra is slower to anger than he is in many other signs, and we'll have an opportunity to have a more balanced approach to relationship issues - seeing the other person's point of view.

For the first three weeks of his stay (until October 7th), Mars will be in mutual reception with Venus, further adding to the diplomatic vibe. Although folks may have different approaches to relationships, it may be possible to bring about harmony if they recognize that they have the same ultimate goal.

Mars connects with the Aquarian planets during his stay, making easy trines to Saturn (September 25th) and Jupiter (October 18th). Saturn will help to steady communication and set limits within partnership. The trine to stationed Jupiter - and on a Mercury station no less - could infuse optimism if not necessarily realism into relationships.

A square to Pluto on October 22nd is Mars' last major aspect before he heads to Scorpio. This otherwise explosive aspect is tamed a bit by Mars being in Libra. Pluto reminds Mars that actions speak louder than words, but Mars will ask for all the paperwork to be filled out before anything happens.

During Mars' stay in Libra, the strategy is to go through channels and follow protocol. Be nice. Smile. But be sure that you're not holding back too far on your true feelings, gritting your teeth behind a tight smile.
