The Jupiter/Uranus Conjunction Ahead!

On 21st April (UT), there will be an exact conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus at 21 degrees Taurus – the current Jupiter-Uranus cycle, which began in 2011, is reaching its close. The Sun, today at 11 degrees Aquarius, is on its way from a square to Jupiter (exact on 27th January) towards a square to Uranus (exact on 8th February) – translating the light between the two, to use a term from traditional astrology. Jupiter and Uranus have yet to form their conjunction, yet ahead of this we are currently in a period where they are connected by the go-between action of the Sun, like a matchmaker making an overture from one party to the other.

In the UK news this week for instance, I’m struck by the fact that life will soon return to Stormont, the seat of government in Northern Ireland, which has been out of action for the past two years because of a dispute over the post-Brexit border down the Irish Sea. We can only hope that by April it will be full steam ahead with the business of government.

We might be experiencing a similar thing in our own individual lives too, in the area of our chart where Jupiter and Uranus will eventually make their conjunction – a place where we may have reached an impasse or are longing for some kind of liberation. We can feel the possibility of it close at hand, and in these few days where the Sun makes the overture, we can perhaps begin to see what needs to change as we prepare for the hopeful new beginning suggested by the April conjunction, wherever that will fall in our birth chart. - Carole Taylor
